report abuse, neglect or abandonment of an animal.
Reporting Abuse, Neglect or Abandonment
If a person observes a horse being neglected, abused or
abandoned, they may contact our facility confidentially for immediate response.
We will review the situation and make a site visit as soon as possible. If we
find the situation calls for immediate attention we then attempt to contact the
owner to negotiate the safe removal of the horse. If the owner is unwilling to
release the horse to the local police will then be contacted for further
investigation. Whether it be our rescue or another, we’ll work with the
authorities to ensure the animal is placed in an appropriate facility.
